For those of you who have either Allstate or AFA insurance, they are offering people refunds for staying home. So if you were not able to work from late March until now, be sure to see if you qualify for getting a refund for not driving around. I thought this was worth sharing here since I know a lot of people use both companies for Uber and Lyft.
I will have to look into this. I didn't even think to call and ask. I see some people got checks in the mail without even calling or asking as well. Maybe I got a check and it was lost? I will have to call up and ask.
I ended up getting a nice refund. I was not expecting it but it really came in handy. We have such strict policies around here right now, it is making it very hard to earn a living.
I was not aware they were doing this. I never got a refund myself. Is it still running? Like are they still offering because I could really use the extra income with bills!
I ended up getting a refund from Geico. I think a lot of other insurance companies hopped on board with this to help other people out so it is worth calling and asking if you didn't get any kind of refund no matter who you are insured with.
A lot of companies decided to do this after the bigger names did so be sure to check. Even if your area is not in lockdown anymore, you can still likely receive something back or at the very least, a monthly discount for the rest of the year. That is what I got. I am saving $20 a month until 2021.
