Can your license to drive for Uber/Lyft be taken away?

If it can be taken away, what are some of the common reasons for it to be removed?

I see a lot of people online mentioning that they randomly just revoked access to driving services on their account and are now "not licensed" even though they did nothing, to their knowledge, wrong.

Definitely yes. If you violate their rules. Even if you move to a new city or state, you may need different documents than your previous region. Keep your documents updated so you don't have to stop giving rides if you need to update any of your records.

They can revoke your access to the app anytime they wish. You can get removed from it by getting a lot of negative reviews. I know someone who was essentially kicked out of Uber for getting more than 10 negative reviews in her first month. She has the option to reapply after 3 months.

You can be penalized, suspended, and outright banned from both Uber and Lyft. Factors for these involve customer complaints, negative reviews, lying on your application, breaking any rules or regulations, and so on.

I know several people who have been terminated and can no longer drive with Lyft. I think Lyft is a lot more strict than Uber so if you do get released from one, apply to the other.

Yes, mine was. I was suspended from Lyft, twice. This was because of negative reviews. People were complaining because I was telling them they need a mask to get in my car.
