We get it all here. Heavy rain in the spring, bright sun in the summer, high winds in the fall, and loads of snow in the winter. It can be challenging driving around places you seldom go with the weather always changing. Do you prepare for seasonal changes where you are by prepping your car?
We get a good amount of snow each winter. The only thing I do is put on winter tires, they make driving much easier in the snow. If it gets really bad, I'll use chains. I've not had to do that just yet.
Any other suggestions for better winter driving?
As mentioned, I change to my season tires that better handle cold, icey, and wet conditions. I also take my car in for an inspection before winter hits to make sure everything is running fine.
I have winter tires that get put on for November through March. I also changed the windshield wipers so they are better equipped for snowfall vs rain. That is about all I do.
