I heard from someone I know in another state that they don't allow their drivers to be tipped. This seems a bit odd considering I have read something differently online. I am just trying to figure out if this is something they allow and maybe it is only allowed according to the state's regulations and laws on the matter. Anyone know?
Doesn't sound like a real thing to me.
How would anyone know you've been tipped? Assuming it was a cash tip. I highly doubt they have secret passengers to find drivers who accept a tip.
Interested to see where you heard this info.
I know with Lyft you can tip your driver and they keep 100% of the tip. I would imagine that this can be done with Uber though they may have different rules for it.
Yeah Lyft you keep whatever they tip you and I know Uber is the same because I applied for both. Lyft was just faster at hiring me so I went with them. They have no control over what people tip or how much.
Of course, this is part of the benefit of driving for these companies. You can get pretty sizable tips if you keep up the good work and people enjoy your service.
If they didn't I sure as heck wouldn't be driving for them! I rely on my tips to make it reasonable to actually do this job!
