Hi,
My younger brother just passed his driving test and got his first car. Is he allowed to use Uber or Lyft immediately or must he be licensed for a certain amount of time?
I've never looked into this myself despite being an experienced driver.
Thanks!
Oh yes! Who drives without a driver license? Your brother need a driver licence, Lyft or Uber won't risk the life of their customers with someone that has not been licensed to drive.
You need to have a license for one year unless you are under the age of 23, then it is 3 years. Assuming he is 18, he can't drive for them until he is 21.
Absolutely no! You are not allowed to drive without a driver license, not even when it's a commercial stuff. I will advise you help your brother get a license as soon as possible.
As mentioned, if he is 16 or 18, he will not be able to drive for them. You need to be a license holder for a minimum of 3 years so the general age is 21. If you are older then you only have had to have a license for one year.
