What is the process of reporting an accident with Lyft or Uber?

I have never been in one to know the process but I am curious. Does anyone here know what you should do if you are in an accident while working for Uber or Lyft?

You handle it the same way you would if it was an accident under your own insurance. You have to ensure the passangers are fine and no one is hurt as well and keep them there. Don't let them leave until an ambulance arrives to check them out.

Yep, it's no different to any other crash.

If with Uber, notify them and you'll receive an incident report form. More info: https://help.uber.com/driving-and-delivering/article/in-case-of-an-accident---?nodeId=039f5d2f-1361-4d63-98f3-3474e625575b

If with Lyft, you report it to them as well. More info: https://help.lyft.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018628473-Report-an-accident-or-collision

This is something that is seldom covered for drivers just starting out and I never understood why. You'd think both companies would want their drivers to know these things for safety reasons.

I agree, there should be more information on this when signing up. The info is above in the links though and everything seems to be covered. I was actually looking for this answer and ended up being directed to this forum, so I joined. Very helpful!

You report it like you normally would with your insurance but you also report it within the uber app. You have the option to call in and report it as well depending on the severity of the accident.
